Practice areas

She worked in the legal department of Ernst & Young early in her career and later served as in-house counsel for the global Swedish-Swiss engineering company ABB. She subsequently acted as Legal Counsel for Yapı ve Kredi Bank, a member of a major Italian-Austrian banking group.

Before joining VentureTechLegal, she was a partner at BudakLegal for many years, advising multinational companies, investors, and corporate clients on a wide spectrum of commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters. Her practice covers Commercial Law, Banking Law, Corporate Law, and Contracts, with a strong focus on cross-border transactions and business operations in Turkey.

In addition to her corporate advisory background, she gained hands-on entrepreneurial experience as one of the founding members of a startup during its formation phase. This role enabled her not only to lead the legal structuring but also to take part in the operational and strategic decision-making processes, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of how businesses are built from the ground up.

Her combined experience—partnership in a corporate law firm, in-house roles, and involvement in early-stage venture creation—allows her to deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions tailored to both established companies and fast-growing startups.

Practice areas

Specializing in the complex legal processes of venture capital and foreign direct investment into startups, she practices at VentureTechLegal. She advises international investors and high-growth startups on the entire investment lifecycle, alongside general Startup Law and Commercial Transactions. Before joining the firm, she was the founder and managing attorney of Zafer Law, a boutique firm where she built specialized expertise in Corporate and Commercial Law. Her practice is deeply rooted in structuring and executing investor-to-startup transactions and managing legal frameworks for cross-border investment processes.

Her legal perspective is uniquely shaped by her executive-level experience within the tech ecosystem: as a member of a founding team of a technology startup, she held direct management responsibilities and contributed to a successful venture that received industry awards. This hands-on background allows her to assess legal risks from a business growth perspective, consistently delivering pragmatic and results-driven solutions.

She further strengthens her expertise through advanced academic work, including her current thesis: "Choice of Law and Contractual Implications in Foreign Venture Capital Investments: A Comparative Analysis of Turkish Law and US Delaware and English Law." This specialized focus on international investment law ensures she delivers strategically superior legal solutions tailored to the fast-paced demands of the global startup ecosystem.
